Ottawa's Canada Day Festival exemplifies the enthusiasm, cooperation
and spirit of the individuals, businesses and organizations that make
up Ottawa, a dynamic city and the nation's capital. On January 1,
1855, the town of Bytown became the City of Ottawa. On December 31,
1857, the day before the city's third birthday, Queen Victoria
guaranteed Ottawa a place in history when she chose it to be the
capital of Canada. This year Ottawa celebrates 151-years as Canada
celebrates 139-years.
This year's Ottawa's Canada Day Festival is being launched on Friday,
June 27th 2008 with a speech from Mayor Larry O'Brian and special
performances from the Firefighter's Band and the Nepean Orchestra. The
Canada Day Festival has talented performers, unique entertainment and
fun for the whole family all weekend until our finale on July 1st 2008
Canada Day!
We invite everyone to Andrew Haydon Park in the city's west-end to
savor foods for every palette and enjoy the colorful entertainment and
activities offered by a variety of stellar performers. There's
something for everyone - midway rides and games, a mini-circus, a
petting zoo, a car show, a water park, face painting, live DJ, band
shell entertainment, cultural events and a Canada Day fireworks
display like no other. Best of all, admission to the festival is free!
The beauty of Canada's landscape can only be transcended by the beauty
of its people whose generosity and spirit make up this great nation.
Ottawa's Canada Day Festival reflects and showcases the incredible
talent, creativity and strength of the citizens of Ottawa within a

Le Festival cette année, commencera vendredi,le 27 juin 2008
avec un discours du Maire Larry O'Brian et des performances
speciaux de la "Bande du Pompier" et de l'Orchestre de Nepean.
Le Festival de Jour du Canada a des artistes doués, des amusements unique et
des amusements pour la famille entiere tout le week-end jusqu'à notre
grande finale le 1 juillet,
Jour du Canada.
Nous invitons tous au Parc Andrew Haydon dans l'ouest de la ville à
degouster les aliments savoureux et apprécient l'amusement coloré et
les activités offertes par une variété d'artistes stellaires. Ce
festival saura plaire à tous.
Au programme : manèges, zoo pour enfants, maquillage du visage, kiosque à
musique, expositions de voitures, activités culturelles et un
spectacle éblouissant de feux d'artifices qu' illuminera le ciel!
La meilleur de tout , c'est que l'admission au festival est gratuite!
